Philadelphia Sixers and Boston Celtics among potential landing spots for Kevin Durant

NBA Kevin Durant appears to have severed ties with the Brooklyn Nets, and it may only be a matter of time before he is traded. Many teams have been mentioned as potential landing spots, but another one may have to be added to the list. NBA Rumors: Aiming High LeBron James has one major request for the Los Angeles Lakers. NBA Rumors: The Lakers are prepared to make a trade for Kyrie Irving. Getty Images/Andy Lyons Durant, Kevin Though it’s been weeks since he requested a trade, it appears that Kevin Durant’s time in Brooklyn may be coming to an end soon. Following his reported ultimatum to the Nets, team owner Joe Tsai stated unequivocally that he supports GM Sean Marks and coach Steve Nash.
That means it’s a matter of when, not if, the Nets trade the 12-time NBA All-Star. While no team appears capable of meeting Brooklyn’s high expectations, it is in the Nets’ best interests to find him a new home.
KD still has four years left on his contract, but moving on seems to be the best option for everyone at this point. The big question is which team will actually give the Nets what they want in return. In any case, Durant knows where he wants to play.

NBA Rumors: The trade that could send Kevin Durant to the Sixers
According to Ian Begley of SNY, Durant not only sees Boston as a desired landing spot, but he would also like to play in Philadelphia. The report claims that the Sixers could pull it off by sending a package that includes Tyrese Maxey, among other players and draft picks:
“Something worth noting: As of earlier this week, there were high-ranking members of the Sixers who’ve felt strongly about engaging with Brooklyn on a Durant trade. It is unknown if Brooklyn and Philadelphia have made any recent progress on a trade. ” Previous reports stated that the Suns were at or near the top of the list of teams Durant would like to be traded to. An offseason trade to Phoenix seems unlikely due to the DeAndre Ayton signing. So what happens now? Well, it’s worth noting that, in addition to Boston, Durant also sees Philadelphia as another welcome landing spot, per people familiar with the matter.
“The Sixers would almost certainly have to include Tyrese Maxey in a trade for Durant. Given the dynamics at play, you’d think that Tobias Harris, Matisse Thybulle and other players/draft picks would be included.”
A few months ago, Joel Embiid was understood to ask the front office to ‘exhaust’ all options to bring Durant. The 76ers would clearly benefit from having a proven winner like him, but is this realistic considering that James Harden is on the team? Only time will tell how this situation unfolds.

Darvin Magic Johnson wants to run through LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

NBA Darvin Ham, the coach of the Los Angeles Lakers, has some bold ideas to get the team back on track. See how he intends to use his two biggest stars next season. NBA Rumors: The Lakers are ready to make a trade for Kyrie Irving. NBA: Luka Doncic, Ja Morant, and other players aged 25 and under to shine in 2022-23 season Mike Ehrmann/Getty Images Anthony Davis and LeBron James Last season, the Los Angeles Lakers dug themselves far too many holes. They got off to a slow start and were unable to claw their way back into games. Furthermore, the injuries to Anthony Davis and LeBron James exacerbated a situation that appeared doomed from the start.
The firing of Frank Vogel was a positive step. The roster was poorly constructed, which was not his fault, but he failed to make adjustments and appeared to lose his players’ trust along the way. He had to leave.
Darvin Ham, the team’s first-year coach, wants to start fresh. He’s spent the last few months figuring out how to get the team back on track. And, according to Yahoo Sports’ Chris Haynes, that includes making one major change.

NBA News: Lakers Offense Will Run Through Anthony Davis, Not LeBron James
“He voiced that defensive tenacity needs to be picked up all across the roster and also forewarned that players would have to play new roles and if he sensed reluctance, he wouldn’t hesitate to remove them from the game,” Haynes reported.
“Furthermore, the first-year head coach said one wrinkle he will implement and stick with is having the offense run through Anthony Davis, and James concurred,” Haynes added.
“The team has been encouraged with Davis’ offseason progression and believe he’ll be in optimum shape to avoid serious injuries and carry a heavier load. The team is also hopeful for a corner-3 shooting percentage bump from Russell Westbrook next season, sources said. ” James isn’t getting any younger, so it’s only natural to see him take a step back and allow Davis to be the go-to guy. If anything, the Lakers always intended Davis to carry the torch and lead the way once LeBron is no longer in town.
LeBron is eligible to sign a two-year contract extension worth $97 million, but those talks have reportedly stalled. So, if the Lakers want to convince him to stay, they better prove they have what it takes to compete at the highest level.

Kevin Durant’s ultimatum to the Nets has been met with a mixed response from the team’s coaches and executives.

Photographer: Brad Penner/USA TODAY Sports Kevin Durant is one of the best players in the world, and many teams would love to have him on their rosters. He has publicly requested a trade this offseason, which has fueled speculation about where he will end up in the future. NBA insider Shams Charania recently provided an update on Kevin Durant’s situation with the Nets, revealing that Kevin Durant issued an ultimatum to the franchise, asking them to choose between him and Sean Marks and Steve Nash. According to a report by Steve Bulpett of Heavy.com, coaches and executives around the league aren’t happy with Kevin Durant’s request, with some claiming that the front office has already done everything he and co-star Kyrie Irving wanted. Peers of Marks and Nash were understandably upset.
“I understand that players have more power these days, but I think he’s going a little too far if he’s out here trying to get Steve fired,” one coach said, recalling Magic Johnson’s fingerprints on Paul Westhead’s firing in November 1981 and other power plays, some of which were justified.
Another club’s head of basketball operations was equally dissatisfied.
“I’m furious,” he said. “Livid. He and Kyrie (Irving) basically told Sean they were coming (as free agents in 2019), and Sean pretty much did whatever they wanted after that. Signing DeAndre Jordan to a four-year contract? That’s what Kyrie and KD wanted. Obtaining James Harden? Then, when Harden wanted out, they got a guy who should be a perfect complement to them (Ben Simmons). Sean did all that.
“And now KD doesn’t like how it’s all worked out? There’s probably some other people he should talk to about that, maybe even a teammate,” he said, acknowledging that he was referring to Irving. It is easy to see why some in the league might be frustrated with Kevin Durant’s conduct. The Nets did provide Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving with a lot of the things that they wanted, but unfortunately, the team simply wasn’t able to get to the Finals or win a championship. It remains to be seen how this situation continues to develop. It seems likely that Kevin Durant will be traded at some point in the future, but the destination remains unclear. Hopefully, we see Kevin Durant on a good team, no matter where it may be.

Bronny James will have his own Anthony Davis next season.
According to Eric Sondheimer of the Los Angeles Times, four-star power forward Ashton Hardaway is set to transfer to Sierra Canyon High School in Chatsworth, California. Hardaway is the son of Penny Hardaway, the current head coach of the University of Memphis and a former NBA All-Star.
Last season at Duncanville High School in Duncanville, Texas, Hardaway averaged 10.0 points and 2.8 rebounds per game. He, too, is about to begin his senior year at Sierra Canyon.
Hardaway is set to join the Sierra Canyon team as the fourth son of a famous NBA father. Aside from Bronny, LeBron James’ younger son Bryce will be a sophomore, and Justin Pippen, Scottie Pippen’s youngest son, will be a junior. That collection of last names will be one of many storylines to keep an eye on at Sierra Canyon as the school year begins.

NBA superstar Kevin Durant reportedly wants Nets general manager Sean Marks fired.

Sport WEBSITE OF THE YEARAPP OF THE YEAR 9 Aug, 2022 05:00 AM 3 minutes to readKevin Durant of the Brooklyn Nets in action. AP Photographer NBA superstar Kevin Durant reportedly wants the Brooklyn Nets’ Kiwi general manager Sean Marks fired. According to The Athletic, Durant reiterated to Nets owner Joe Tsai his desire for a trade and issued an ultimatum to the team’s leadership. Tsai was reportedly told that he must choose between Durant and the pairing of New Zealander general manager Marks and coach Steve Nash, with the star forward expressing concerns about the team’s direction under the duo. According to the New York Post, Durant isn’t the only Nets star who is dissatisfied with the team’s leadership. “Kyrie Irving despises these guys,” according to the source. “He believes Nash is terrible and Marks is terrible.” KD arrived at the same conclusion.” “Our front office and coaching staff have my support,” Tsai tweeted this week. We will make decisions that are best for the Brooklyn Nets.” Sean Marks, general manager of the Brooklyn Nets. Getty Images This is the latest chapter in a saga that began in June, when Durant informed the Nets that he wanted to be traded just as the free agency period began this summer. Durant isn’t a free agent; he has four years and $198 million left on his contract with the Nets, who will undoubtedly demand a large haul of players and draft picks in any trade deal for the 12-time All-Star, four-time scoring champion, three-time Olympic gold medalist, and two-time NBA champion. NBA Commissioner Adam Silver has never been a fan of public trade demands. Silver stated last month, “This has to be a two-way street.” “Teams provide enormous security and guarantees to players in exchange for the expectation that they will keep their end of the bargain.” “But we don’t like to see players requesting trades, and we don’t like to see it playing out the way it is.” “But we don’t like to see players requesting trades, and we don’t like to see it playing out the way it is.” The Nets are coming off a disappointing NBA season in which Irving was not allowed to play until December last year and then only in away games due to New York state laws. James Harden, the other member of the so-called big three, forced his way out of the team and was traded for Ben Simmons, who has yet to play for the Nets due to injury. The Nets were eventually swept in the first round of the playoffs by the Boston Celtics. Following the poor performance, Marks admitted that the team’s culture “isn’t what it used to be” and that it was his and Nash’s “job to pick that up.” Marks was the first New Zealander to play in the NBA, winning two titles with the San Antonio Spurs as a player and as an assistant coach. He has been the Nets’ general manager since 2016. Durant has spent three seasons with Brooklyn, missing the first two while recovering from a torn Achilles. After leading the United States to Olympic gold in Tokyo last year, he averaged 29.9 points in 55 games last season. – in conjunction with AP

Dejounte Murray and Paolo Banchero have a beef.. on social media

Paolo Banchero, the top pick in the 2022 draft, has made an easy transition to the NBA. The Orlando Magic big man showed off every offensive skill in Summer League, enjoyed some fellas time on a rooftop with No. 2 pick Chet Holmgren, and has remained active on the pro-am circuit in preparation for his rookie season. By one advanced metric, he’s even qualified as an outright prodigy: beef-having. Banchero has beef with veteran Dejounte Murray, who has yet to play a single minute for his new team, the Atlanta Hawks, before even playing a single minute of NBA preseason. Murray and Banchero, both city natives, played in Jamal Crawford’s pro-am game in Seattle over the weekend. Given that the game takes place in a random college gym, combines skilled amateurs with some of the best athletes alive, and Murray himself stated that the game’s purpose is “so these kids and people who can’t afford to see us be able to see us for free!!!” This isn’t the crackling, superheated atmosphere of the conference finals. To make beef here is to make wine out of water. But that is exactly what Murray did. All it took, apparently, was one chippy play to get him going. He styled on Banchero with this play that appears to be an attempted trip from at least one angle: On his way out of the game, he said some mind-boggling things: And then he took the fight to Instagram, unfollowing Banchero and issuing the following threat-slash-benediction: Murray, a powerful poster who primarily operates in title cases At All Times specializes in heartwarming and healthy motivational content. However, NBA writer Tom Ziller, who has documented Murray’s troubling recent history of bopping and booing lesser rivals, speculates that Murray is starved for attention after six years on the purposefully attention-deprived San Antonio Spurs. If he’s correct, Atlanta’s backcourt is now 100% heel. Banchero was willing to meet Murray on the digital battlefield, though his attempt to keep the beef hot lacked some of the zing that Murray’s messages possessed: “Hey, he’s a rookie.” His trash-talking is a work in progress, just like his defense.

Dejounte Murray, Paolo Banchero, and the Zeke-End Pro-Am Tournament!

The Orlando Magic’s first overall draft pick, Paolo Banchero, speaks during a press conference at the Amway Center on June 24, 2022. Nathan Ray Seebeck-USA TODAY Sports is required to provide credit.
Paolo Banchero is experiencing his “welcome to the NBA” moment before ever playing in an NBA game.
This weekend, the Orlando Magic rookie took part in Isaiah Thomas’ annual Zeke-End pro-am tournament. Banchero faced current NBA All-Star Dejounte Murray on Sunday. Murray got Banchero to bite on a shot fake during one sequence. He then faked a pass around Banchero before throwing it off the backboard to himself for a dunk. Murray then turned up the heat on Banchero by yelling at him, making the “too small” hand gesture, and whipping the basketball right back at him.
Here’s a link to the video.

Dejounte Murray schooled this year’s top pick, Paolo Banchero, at #ZekeEnd: @RockyPadila SMsiCeRtku — Playmaker (@playmaker) August 7, 2022

Banchero will almost certainly have to retire from competitive basketball after that one. Maybe he should leave town and start over under a different name.
If this were an NBA game, Murray, the new Atlanta Hawks guard, would be called for a technical foul faster than you can say “Zach Zarba.” During pro-am season, however, anything goes. Murray, a Seattle native, was probably feeling extra saucy because the tournament was also held in Tacoma, Wash.
Banchero, 19, comes with a lot of hype after being selected first overall in this year’s NBA Draft. Murray, on the other hand, sees Banchero as just another scrap of meat to add to his growing list of victims.

Young Boy’s House Arrest Might Be in Jeopardy After He Tried to Fake a Drug Test

YouTube/YoungBoy Never Broke Again

Published at 10:49 a.m. on August 7, 2022.

NBA YoungBoy’s chances of being released from house arrest may be jeopardized after he was allegedly caught attempting to fake a drug test.
According to AllHipHop, the Baton Rouge native passed off someone else’s urine sample as his own during a legally mandated drug test in late July.
YoungBoy tested positive for THC, the main psychoactive compound found in marijuana, when his plan was foiled and he was forced to provide a legitimate urine sample.

According to court documents, the 22-year-old, who was found not guilty on federal gun charges on July 15 in Los Angeles, used a device to fill the testing cup with someone else’s clean urine.
When the observing officer noticed the device and confronted YoungBoy Never Broke Again, he denied the charge and snuck out of the building without permission.

He provided a legitimate urine sample the next day, which came back positive. When questioned, the Top rapper admitted to using a CBD vape pen during his pretrial supervision.
He also claimed that the week before, he took an at-home drug test and panicked when it came back positive for THC, fearing he’d violate the terms of his pretrial release.

The US Attorney’s Office also charged NBA YoungBoy with violating his probation by visiting a recording studio without permission from his probation officer. They believe that his violations justify keeping him under house arrest.
Since October 2021, the rapper has been under house arrest in Utah. Following his acquittal in July, his legal team requested that his previous bail conditions be modified and that he be released from house arrest, paving the way for a possible nationwide tour.

The Golden State Warriors star talks about his journey from Minnesota to Toronto

Getty Golden State Warriors’ Andrew Wiggins The Golden State Warriors have been the dominant force that the rest of the NBA has had to contend with for the better part of the last decade. Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, and Klay Thompson have served as the Evil Empire to which everyone else has looked up. However, the outside players have made the most noise for Golden State over the last two seasons. Of course, Curry, Green, and Thompson have been outstanding, but players such as Andrew Wiggins and Jordan Poole have burst onto the scene. In Wiggins’ case, he earned a new opportunity with the Warriors. Wiggins spent the first five and a half years of his career with the Minnesota Timberwolves after being selected with the first overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft. Wiggins discussed his experiences in both Minnesota and Golden State during his recent return to his hometown with the Larry O’Brien trophy. “I’ve always been confident in what I can do when I step on the court,” he said. “I put up numbers when I was in Minnesota.” ‘He put up numbers on a bad team,’ people said. So I go to Golden State and I’m not scoring as much, but I’m doing a lot more efficiently, so the rest of the world can see.”

“This was the best summer of my life.”
The Golden State Warriors star, who was born in Toronto and raised in Vaughan, brings the Larry O’Brien Trophy to weekend youth camps and gives local kids an experience that seemed impossible not long ago.

August 6, 2022 — Toronto Star (@TorontoStar)
Despite putting up big numbers with the Timberwolves, the fact that he only made the playoffs once made the public doubt his abilities. But, after finishing as the Warriors’ second-best player during their championship run, most of those questions have been answered. While he was home, Wiggins took the opportunity to speak about his journey and what it means to win a title. Wiggins Discusses His Road to the Championship After failing to make the playoffs multiple times in Minnesota, Wiggins has had far more success in Golden State. He claimed that the championship victory made all of his sacrifices and criticism worthwhile. “I’m feeling great,” Wiggins said in between sessions at youth camps in Vaughan and Mississauga. “There have been many ups and downs, and many people had written me off, but to be back and… win a championship? All of the sacrifices, all of the ups and downs, all of it was worthwhile. It improves the story significantly.” He also mentioned how wonderful it felt to have the support of his hometown community. “It’s been a unique summer, but it’s been the best summer of my life,” Wiggins said. “It’s been incredible coming down here and feeling all of this love and positivity; it’s been wonderful.” Just being able to return the trophy to where it all began for me… where all my friends and family who helped me get to where I am now.” And, as impressive as Wiggins’ title run was, he also emphasized the importance of his family in his NBA journey. Wiggins Discusses the Importance of Family Winning a championship with the Warriors was important to Wiggins, but he also stressed the importance of having his family on his side at all times. “I can go home and talk to my mother” (former Olympic track star Marita Payne). “I can communicate with my father (ex-NBAer Mitchell Wiggins), my brothers, and my sister,” Wiggins explained. “We’re a really close family, and I can count on them for anything.” “Right there is my support group.” Wiggins’ story is one of the best in the NBA, so it’s great to see him celebrate his success with the people who helped him get there.

Lakers Talk Three-team Trade for Russell Westbrook

Getty Rob Pelinka, a Lakers executive, A new potential blockbuster trade for the Los Angeles Lakers to consider in order to move Russell Westbrook has emerged. According to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, the Lakers have discussed a three-team trade with the Knicks and Jazz in exchange for Donovan Mitchell. Los Angeles would receive a package of solid role players that would include former Clippers foe Patrick Beverley, sharpshooter Bojan Bogdanovic (or Malik Beasley), and ex-Lakers guard Jordan Clarkson. In this trade scenario, Westbrook would most likely go to the Jazz to make the salaries work. “The Lakers discussed joining the Jazz and Knicks in a potential three-team trade a few weeks ago, league sources told HoopsHype,” Scotto wrote on August 5, 2022. “In the proposed three-team trade scenario, Westbrook would go to Utah and be bought out.” Utah would send Donovan Mitchell to the Knicks, a package of two players, including Patrick Beverley and Jordan Clarkson, to the Lakers, and the Jazz would receive significant draft pick compensation from the Knicks and Lakers. To make the salaries work, the Knicks would have had to part with a veteran salary filler (or fillers), such as Derrick Rose.” ALL of the most recent Los Angeles Lakers news delivered to your inbox! Bogdanovic Would Help the Lakers Fill the Shooting Gap
Bogdanovic would be a significant addition to the Lakers’ roster, and the career 39.2 percent three-point shooter would fill an immediate void. During the 2021-22 season, the Jazz forward averaged 18.1 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 1.7 assists while shooting 38.7 percent from long range. Beverley has made no secret of his desire to play with King James after years of attempting to get under LeBron James’ skin as an opponent. Clarkson would be a familiar face to Lakers fans, having spent his first four seasons in the city. Last season, the guard averaged 16 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game while shooting 31.8 percent from beyond the arc. Are the Lakers willing to give up a chance to sign Kyrie Irving? Russell Westbrook Must Leave the Lakers | The Ryen Russillo Podcast Ryen Russillo discusses recent NBA offseason storylines, such as Russell Westbrook’s status with the Lakers and Kyrie Irving’s status with the Nets. He also discusses why both teams may be extra motivated to move their star point guards despite the fact that there is little demand for them on the trade market. Examine the Bill… 2022-08-04T17:59:19Z The biggest question surrounding this deal, talks with the Pacers, and other trade talks the Lakers have been linked to is how it may affect the team’s chances of landing Kyrie Irving. This three-way trade would almost certainly keep the Lakers out of the Irving sweepstakes, which appears to be the team’s top priority of potential trades. The Lakers have been hesitant to attach multiple future first-round draft picks in order to find a team willing to pay Westbrook’s $47 million salary. According to Scotto, the Lakers will be unable to trade Westbrook without including their first-round picks in 2027 and 2029. “As mentioned on the latest HoopsHype podcast, the prevailing thought around the league is that any three-team trade involving Russell Westbrook would require the Lakers’ 2027 and 2029 first-round picks with as few protections as possible,” Scotto explained. As the season approaches, it will be interesting to see if the Lakers become more aggressive in their pursuit of Irving. The unfortunate realty is the proposed three-team deal essentially is just the Lakers undoing their previous Westbrook trade by acquiring a package of role players similar to what the team gave up for the star guard on the night of the 2021 NBA draft. According to SNY.TV’s Ian Begley, Irving is now in a “good place” with the Nets. Begley wrote on August 4 that “a source close to Irving said this week that the seven-time All-Star is in a good place with the Nets and comfortable entering the 2022-23 season.”
