The Golden State Warriors big man didn’t hold back on the latest episode of the Draymond Green Show. Draymond Green lashed out at the league for their sloppy handling of the Robert Sarver situation.
The allegations against Phoenix Suns owner Robert Sarver were first made public in October 2021. The term “workplace misconduct” appears to be a gross mischaracterization of what he was accused of and later found to have done. Following the initial shocking report, the NBA launched an investigation that included over 80,000 documents and interviews with 320 people.
What did the NBA discover during its Robert Sarver investigation?

The following are Draymond’s quotes from Tuesday’s Draymond Green Show from The Volume:

Draymond Green began calmly, saying, “It’s a little perplexing to me that we’ll walk into the arena next year.” Next year, the Phoenix Suns will enter the arena, he’ll sit on the bench, and we’ll just keep playing. So the one thing I’m going to need is someone to explain to me why it was acceptable to get rid of (Donald) Sterling, but it’s impossible to force Robert Sarver to sell after what we’ve read?”
“To think that someone like Robert Sarver, acting in that manner, can continue to represent us, that’s bulls-t!” said Draymond Green.
Draymond Green stated, “I’m asking for a vote to get Robert Sarver out of the league like Donald Sterling.” If that’s the only option, let’s look at the numbers. Let’s find out what they are.”
“To get suspended for one year and fined $10 million, I mean, the only way you get suspended for one year and fined $10 million is if you own an asset and can’t be fired,” Draymond continued. Because I believe that anyone else in the NBA who — especially from a front-office standpoint, like maybe not a player, though we’ve seen players thrown out of the league for less — would be fired if half of what came out of the Robert Sarver investigation came out about anyone else.”

“To believe that someone like Robert Sarver can continue to represent us in this manner? That’s nonsense.”

It’s only in the NBA.
One of the best aspects of the NBA is that players have a voice and can speak out against the league’s decisions. Consider what the NFL’s top brass would do if one of their stars spoke out against the league in this manner.
It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out who the NBA world supports / would support. Draymond Green clearly supports his peers and colleagues.
The first game of the NBA’s 2022/23 season is in less than a month. Things are bound to change between now and then. It will be interesting to see how this story progresses.
