According to a report, a former NBA player was arrested at the airport on Saturday for drug possession and ammunition possession.
According to TMZ Sports, Iman Shumpert was arrested at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport on Wednesday after TSA screeners discovered a plastic bag containing a “green leafy substance.” Shumpert admitted to using marijuana.
Shumpert was then arrested for having 6.12 ounces of marijuana on his person.
According to TMZ, Shumpert was also found with a Glock magazine and 14 9mm rounds in his bag, despite the fact that he did not have a gun.
Shumpert was concerned about missing his flight to Los Angeles, where he planned to visit his daughter. He was eventually arrested.
Shumpert was drafted in the first round by the New York Knicks in 2011. The 32-year-old guard spent four seasons with the New York Knicks, four with the Cleveland Cavaliers, and then with the Kings and Rockets before finishing his career with the Nets.
Shumpert reached his peak as a rookie, averaging 9.5 points and 1.7 steals per game. He won the championship with the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2015-2016.
